I am a pretty sedate, low-key, low-maintenance female with a lot of personality quirks that tend to shatter any female stereotypes. I’m unemotional and not super-talkative, although I do like a good conversation. My passion in life, aside from the deeper, spiritual stuff like my husband and yet-future family, is food. I’m all about food. Food, I tell people, is my love language. I’d so much rather a great meal than an expensive piece of jewelry. I love cooking food, I love eating food, I love gifting food, I love watching other people enjoy my food. I wish I were creative enough to write a cookbook, but I do tend to follow recipes. I subscribe to many cooking blogs/websites (Sprouted Kitchen, Smitten Kitchen, The Kitchn, Bon Appetit).
My husband, Joshua, and I got married in October 2012, after being in a relationship for one year and 5 months to the day. Prior to that, we had known each other for 10 years. (!) He is a great man – check him out on the next tab.
And now here are a few things just about me:
I have long, blondish-brownish hair. My license calls it “sandy”.
My favorite book and literary character is the Count of Monte Cristo.
I listen to 89.9 WDAV all the time. In fact, I have it on now.
I have always loved traveling, but have found traveling with my husband to be even better.
Much as I love food, I keep a kosher and gluten-free lifestyle, which hinders me from enjoying as many foods as some might think. When I travel to unique places (meaning where the food is unique), I drop the gluten-free thing and dig in.
I love to plan things. Parties to menus to weekly schedules.
I passionately love to cook (see above about my love for food), and have another blog devoted completely to that.
“Vindicate me, O L-rd, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the L-rd without wavering. Examine me, O L-rd, and try me; test my mind and my heart. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.” – Psalm 26:1-3
